Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention

VERMONT- December is designated Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month. This month is all about raising awareness about the consequences for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The Organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is recognizing this month of awareness and taking actions all over the nation. The MADD organization says "High school students who use alcohol or other substances are five times more likely to drop out of school or believe good grades are not important."
The problem of underage drinking and driving under the influence is an ongoing problem in the state of Vermont and all over the Country. In 2009, 10,839 people were killed in alcohol impaired driving crashes which is one third of crashes in the nation.
