During these hard economic times colleges are struggling to maintain their affordability.

Vermont State Colleges announced tuition will rise. Just last year Castleton, Johnson, and Lyndon took a 6.8 & increase in order to avoid cutbacks. The Vermont State Colleges trustees considered both a 3 % and a 4.4 % increase, before agreeing to consider a 4 % recommended increase. Lyndon State College's President says that there are many reasons for the tuition rise.
