Vermont's E-State Initiative

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

The state of Vermont is far from being as technological as the rest of the nation, but Governor Jim Douglas has a plan to fix that.

In 2007, Douglas proposed his E-State Initiative, which would help the progress of updating high speed internet and mobile wireless service throughout Vermont.

Some parts of Vermont are already wired in ways that the Northeast Kingdom can't even access.

I sat down with Governor Jim Douglas to talk with him about where Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom stand, 2 years after his initial proposal.
