Updating Your Wood-Stove
Friday, March 13th, 2009

The program is completely voluntary. It will allow any Vermont household with a pre 1988 or EPA uncertified wood stove to receive a $450 voucher to put toward a new and healthier wood-stove.
Environmental Analyst Heidi Hales says that, “For indoor air their will be less dust. There will also be less particulate matter coming from the chimney into ambient air, so there will be less pollution.”
In Derby, The Farmyard Store is just one of the fifteen retailers participating in the wood stove change out. The company will help the homeowner determine the age of their stove and then possibly switch it for a new one. The Farmyard Store will travel up to fifty miles to install the wood stoves.
This program has limited funding and will only be offered until the 30th of April.
