STJnoTownMeeting-012909

Welch weighs in...

Residents of St. Johnsbury might be able to vote solely by Australian ballot on Town Meeting Day of 2010. The idea was brought up to the Select Board Monday night and the decision has been made to let the voters choose whether or not to adopt this style of voting.
The approval of the Australian ballot will expand the time in which residents have to cast their vote as well as give them a chance to vote from home.
The issue will be raised at this year’s Town Meeting.  The proposed Charter Amendment would apply to Australian Ballot voting for all budgets.
If the voters say “yay” to the Charter Amendment then the change will go into effect next year.
