Grinding to a Hault

Over the past few months, some residents in Lyndonville have been fighting for a skate park. The news Monday night for local skaters was not very hopeful.
Village improvement people say that putting a skateboard park in Powers Park isn't going to happen. The original spot was behind the basketball hoop in the park. But VIP is fighting for it not to go there, which is leaving skateboards nowhere to go but the streets.
Dan Hill the town administrator says VIP is not comfortable with the age discrepancy between park users. "Village improvement people just are not comfortable having a skateboard park in with the younger kids. It will be a mix of older kids probably that will be using the skateboard area as apose to the younger kids who currently use the swimming pool and playground and they felt like it was not a good mix for the park.”
