New Pipes for Danville?

Danville Seeking Stimulus Money for Water Line Improvements
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

DANVILLE - The Danville Fire District is looking for $750,000 of federal stimulus money to help fund a complete overhaul of water lines throughout the town. This reconstruction of the lines will take care of the recurring freezing problems and breaks. The current four inch diameter pipes are not up to date and need to be replaced with either eight or twelve inch pipes to meet the demands of the fire department. The bond vote on the matter stated that half of the funding for the project needs to come from federal stimulus funding. The plan for the water lines is completed and the district is now in need of the federal funds. Danville's water tank and pump system were rebuilt only ten years ago and are expected to last decades more.
