A certain intersection in Lyndonville has been the cause for many car accidents. The town is now searching for ways to make it safer, with less confusion about who has the right of way.

The intersection between Back Center Road and Center Road could be seeing a new stop sign, after an incident in the springtime revealing just how serious the problem is.

“ A person leaving the village headed towards the L.I. or Lyndon State College area, made that corner and went straight into the brick house, doing substantial damage”, said Dan Hill, the Town Administrator.

That corner is currently a three-way intersection, with the only stop sign affecting those coming from Back Center Road into Center Road.

“ We want to put the second stop sign coming in from the village, so the only moving traffic would continue away from the schools”, said Hill.

“ Whatever changes are made will be funded by the state, because there are no high cost items”, Hill also said.

The town hopes to have the new changes done by the spring.
