60 Years of The NEK

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Former U.S. Senator and Vermont Governor George Aiken is the man who first coined the term Northeast Kingdom.  Now some of Aiken's offspring call the area home.  Residents of the NEK and relatives of the man known simply as "Governor" gathered in Montpelier to mark to 60th anniversary of the phrase, and celebrate the life style and beauty of The Kingdom.
