St. Johnsbury Community Speaks Out
Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

ST. JOHNSBURY - Community members came out on Monday night to address a vote that they thought occurred back in October. Many community members thought that the board casted a vote in October to approve the raises of the town clerk, assistant town clerk and the town treasurer. The board said that this was not the case. The audience continued to ask questions to the board about what happened on that day in October. All members of the board had a different story about the day when the raise was made. Nancy Cohen of St. Johnsbury said that she heard and read in the Caledonia Record that three of the members went behind the rest of the boards back and talked to the town manager, which she feels is wrong.
Cohen also said "They're not doing anything ethical to help this community go forward in a positive way... in fact its detrimental."
The meeting ended on a good note with the board and the community hoping that this will not happen in the future.
