LYNDON - Lyndon may be a bit more attractive to new businesses. A plan was proposed to repeal the business tax, and if passed residents would have the option of phasing it out immediately or over three years. Business owner, David Stahler, spoke in support of the proposition.

SUTTON - John F. Kennedy was in the White House the last time Sutton had a different town clerk. Doreen Devenger, was elected for her 50th straight one-year term by a unanimous floor vote at yesterday's town meeting.  For the Devenger's, it was a family affair. Doreen's son Marlin, also known as "Chippy", was elected to his 40th term as town moderator.

ST. JOHNSBURY - The future of the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center is up in the air this morning during Town Meeting. Town Manager Ralph Nelson thinks moving the Town Hall into the Welcome Center is a great idea. "I think it's a great move business wise and the reason for that is that the building here is inadequate and not efficient. We have a building at the Welcome Center that is only being used about one-third of its capability. This is a great opportunity to solve a lot of problems".
