ST. JOHNSBURY - Incumbent select board member Bernie Timson lost his race for reelection by 32 votes on Town Meeting Day.  And with 529 spoiled or blank ballots, he requested a recount.

MONTPELIER - Nearly 1.5 million dollars was spent on Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie's campaign for Governor. Wednesday morning Dubie announced his defeat against Democratic candidate Peter Shumlin.

BURLINGTON - This year marked one of the closest Governors races in the history of Vermont. The candidates, Republican Brian Dubie and Democrat Peter Shumlin were in a close race through out the night on Tuesday, but results weren't released until late Wednesday morning.

MONTPELIER - Republican Phil Scott was announced as Vermont's new Lieutenant Governor late Tuesday night. The five-term Senator from Washington County maintained about an 8 to 10 percent lead over Democratic Rep. Steve Howard winning with 49 percent of the vote.

VERMONT- The State of Vermont has a new Secretary of State, Democrat Jim Condos. Even before his victory was announced, Condos was cautious with regard to being overly confident. "I'm still cautiously optimistic that we're going to be the victors here. I'm going to wait until I see more tallies to make a decision."

NEW HAMPSHIRE - Granite State Candidates came out today with their final attempt to sway voters. In a recent pole done by University of New Hampshire students and WMUR, gubernatorial candidate incumbent John Lynch and candidate John Stephen were closely matched 49% to 41%, with Lynch in the lead.
