A fire was started Tuesday morning in Lyndonville off of back Center Road next to the Bona Farm. The fire was on the exterior of the backside of the house.

HARDWICK - Vermont law enforcement officials say two young children from Hardwick, along with their mother, have been found and are safe. Five year-old Shyann Dimick, two and half year old Lana Dimic, and their twenty six year-old mother Afton Grace were last seen in Hardwick last Saturday with a dark haired women who goes by the name of Stephanie and is a resident of Calis, Vermont. Hardwick and Vermont State Police began looking for the children because Grace does not have legal custody of the children.

Concord residents and students rallied in support of Principal Karl Stein who has been absent from the school for over a month. The Concord School Board announced that Principal Stein has been on administrative leave since mid-October at a Special School Board Meeting held to address the issue. The School Board started the meeting by moving into executive session where they voted to accept the resignation of Principal Karl Stein.

ST. JOHNSBURY - The student population at the St. Johnsbury School has remained steady over the past few years. The school's principal Marion Anastasia says that the number of students has been hovering around seven hundred and she does not expect that number to change.

Lyndon State Freshmen Joshua Grant has been name the North Atlantic Conference Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week. This comes after he took fifth out of 39 runners last Friday during the St. Michael's College Invitational meet.

LYNDON CENTER - Lyndon Institute was the home to an educational presentation by a victim of tobacco. People of all ages came out on Monday night to learn about the dangers of the substance.

Rick Bender was diagnosed with oral cancer at the age of 26 after becoming addicted to "spit tobacco" at a very young age.

BARNET - Last Sunday Judy Frulla, a resident of Barnet, traveled to Boston, Massachussetts to take part in the Jimmy Fund Walk. This event, in it's 21st year, raises money for the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Over 60 million dollars has been raised since it began in 1989.

ST. JOHNSBURY - Improved safety for school children is a priority for the St. Johnsbury School. The school received around $90,000 in funding for the "Safer School Project" which will improve safety for children who both walk or are driven to school. The school board hopes to begin the project this summer, installing two radar detectors between the Irving gas station and the Fairbanks Inn. The hope is to slow traffic down and prevent congestion.
