award

A National Award has been given to Patrick Rainville of Danville High School. Patrick found out he won the Maxpreps Regional Citizen Athlete Award for the Northeast. He didn't just win a national award, but he also received $2,500The Maxpreps Citizen Athlete Award is given to high school student athletes who are model citizens and give back to the community. The winner is chosen based on the amount of votes they receive, and since Patrick gives so much to his community the town of Danville awarded him with the most votes. He says, "it's just nice to belong to such a strong community who has your back and has the support." Patrick has been a member of the National Honor Socitey for three years and plans to put his winnings towards college. He will be attending Colby Sawyer, and his Aunt inspired him to major in exercise science. The money he won will be matched and $2,500 dollars will go the Danville High School. Patrick would like to see the money go to the basketball and soccer programs at the school because they have impacted his life a great deal. It was Danville's small town support that helped him secure the win, even though he was competing against students who attend larger high schools.
