Quilting Through Time

An old craft continues to interest local citizen Nancy Cook. Cook started quilting purely for the love of the quilt, which is why she has stuck by it for the past 30 years. Cook says, "They're such beautiful pieces of art and they're a very personable gift. That was the reason I got into quilting. The piecing, taking small pieces of fabric putting them together to make something that has a completed project that is full of color and full of motion and movement."
Quilting is a hands on experience that usually stems from the desire to take classes which then branches out to become a hobby. Cook claims quilting is a very peaceful craft. She said, "It's comforting to sit there an sew with the fabrics and you're not on a time schedule and you're just doing it as you enjoy doing it."
