Concord

Barns across the state are slowly falling apart or being abandoned all together. Governor Douglas finds it important to support the owners in keeping these barns in use.

Past president of Kiwanis, Wes Ward, still finds himself chipping in as much as he can.

"We participate in other activities that are going on in the community such as the child ID program, we are involved with the bike rodeo, and so we try to stay involved with the kids as much as possible in the area but our primary focus is the swimming pool."

A mathematical error by the state education department has moved the St. Johnsbury School to the bottom of the list for NECAP Testing. This might help the school financially, but overall it does hurt the state.  

Concord residents and students rallied in support of Principal Karl Stein who has been absent from the school for over a month. The Concord School Board announced that Principal Stein has been on administrative leave since mid-October at a Special School Board Meeting held to address the issue. The School Board started the meeting by moving into executive session where they voted to accept the resignation of Principal Karl Stein.

The town of Concord recently began digitizing their town maps. The town currently has over 800 maps, and this new change will help preserve those without using any paper.
