Concord

Concord is preparing for town meeting day and in doing so they will wait and see if grants will come and see 13 positions get filled.

Some people may have trouble admitting or diagnosing themselves with a state of depression.  But many suffer from this illness for one reason or another.

Concord residents and students rallied in support of Principal Karl Stein who has been absent from the school for over a month. The Concord School Board announced that Principal Stein has been on administrative leave since mid-October at a Special School Board Meeting held to address the issue. The School Board started the meeting by moving into executive session where they voted to accept the resignation of Principal Karl Stein.

The town of Concord recently began digitizing their town maps. The town currently has over 800 maps, and this new change will help preserve those without using any paper.

Monday night only 24 of the 1200 Concord residents voted on issues that would not appear on the Australian Ballot.
One of those issuses was the deduction of 10 to 40-thousand dollars on a homestead appraisal for veterans.

Currently Vermont State Colleges are among the worst in the country when it comes to state funding.
This is one reason Governor Jim Douglas called for a review of the higher education structure between Vermont State Colleges and the University of Vermont last Thursday.
