Power Plant
Potential environment and technical problems at the former Concord woodworking site have disrupted developers. There are hopes to create an energy park and district-wide heating system in the town of Lyndonville.
The former Concord woodworking site is along the old rail yard area.
Green energy development president Luke Shullenberger and his development team are considering other locations in the town to build the plant.
In order to excavate the area Shullenberger will have to do an environmental cleanup before building on the site
Lyndonville Town Manager, Dan Hill addressed what the towns major concerns are, "It’s also right in the middle of what used to be a very very busy rail yard in the good old days and there’s a good chance that there are some pollutants in the ground there that will have to be dealt with before they estimate could be petroleum and it could be something else um until some more investigation is done they won't really know for sure what is in the ground but it will have to be dealt with."
