Waste management and hardware stores are advocating for state funding of fluorescent light bulb recycling.

Fluorescent light bulbs contain mercury and can be dangerous if not disposed of properly. Waste management districts want people to recycle fluorescent bulbs to eliminate this danger. State funding for this would help offset the cost to the district for contractors to remove and compact the bulbs.
