Bucks Charging for State Title

BMUBasketballWELLS RIVER - In preperation for the start of the season Blue Mountian Union High School boys' basketball team played a scrimmage match with Randolph Union on Dec. 6.

The Division 3 team from Randolph beat Division 4 BMU 57-24. The loss illustrated the areas that the young Bucks need to work on in practice.

"We can always be better on the deffensive end," said BMU's head coach, Brian Alley. "We've been preaching team defense. We've been working on rotations, you know, help rotate, recover, and taking care of the ball, thats always a downfall, you turn the ball over and it's going to lead to easy baskets for the other team."

BMU finished as the #8 seed in division 4 last year, picking up a 15-7 record and a home playoff game along the way. This year, the goal is to make it past the quarterfinals and go all the way.

"We have probably one of the better chances in this division to go all the way," said Kyle Farquharson, a senior on the team, "I think anything less than a championship for this team that we have right now is not acceptable."

Blue Mountian will play Danville at home in the season opener for both teams on December 10th at 7 pm.
