Bona Back in Court

bonaST. JOHNSBURY- Bruce Bona, 64, was once again found in the Caledonia Courthouse yesterday, this time for a preliminary hearing. Confusion lied between both parties at the courthouse, resulting in Bona asking for more trial preparation time.

Judge Robert Brent awarded Bona a 60-day extension; which is what he requested. The ranch owner was appealing the seizing of his horses, which were taken away because of “improper care and feeding” according to the court’s documents.

In May of 2014, Bona plead not guilty on 21 animal cruelty charges, after dead horses were found on his Lyndonville ranch back in March.
