ST. JOHNSBURY- Cinco De Meow was a fundraiser this past weekend aimed to help raise money for our feline friends. The day was not just for the cats, but also for humans as well. The day included music and a lot of fun.
Helen Morrison of Kingdom Animal Shelter "It just hit me, that it would be cute to do a cinco de meow. But then as I started to research around a little bit, a lot of shelters do a cinco de meow. I just didn't know that, so I sort of came up with it on my own but a lot do it."
The event even had stuff for kids to do as well. There was face painting and pin the tail on the gato. But the most popular activity was the piƱata. Leo Parlo told us a technique he use against the pinata. "When it goes up you're going to hear a sound when you bring it down you're going to hear a sound. I guess you just want to get in this stance and just swing."
With sponsors from all over the Northeast Kingdom there, The Kingdom Animal shelter labled this Hispanic holiday a great success. All the money raised at the event will go to the Kingdom Animal Shelter to take care of the cats they house at the shelter.
