ST. JOHNSBURY- A larger than normal crowd attended the St.Johnsbury school board's annual special meeting. Changes to the curriculum were just one of many topics focused on.
A room full of 13 community members praised the board for recent curriculum changes and new specialized programs.
Parents were also pleased to find out that the school board has been approved for four of the five grants they applied for. The fifth grant is currently still pending. Also among discussion was the school boards efforts to move the district offices to a new location out of the elementary school.
Superintendent, Ranny Bledsoe said, "The school needs the autonomy to run itself without having the district there every minute and I think that it would clarify the relationship between the district and the school as sort of seperate animals."
An update on the districts plans for moving offices will be provided at the next School Board meeting on May 4th.
