LYNDON - The former Maplewood Lodge is up for a permit as owners Chad and Kristina Roy would like to convert fourteen rooms into seven apartments.
This project began around eighteen months ago as they originally wanted to convert twenty-two rooms into eleven apartments. Since the beginning of the project, only four apartments have been created. Currently the building hosts twelve different groups.
Owner, Kristina Roy, said. "We have a couple rooms empty that we are working on. We have a few that are customers, so in less than a year we will be able to finish that project."
The Town of Lyndon Development and Review board has forty-five days to decide. If the permit passes, then there will be a 30-day appeal period before construction can resume.
