Rural Edge Yard Sale

rural edgeLYNDON - Rural Edge of Lyndonville hosted their annual yard sale on Saturday.The unique fund raising attempt was in efforts fo raise money, with the hopes of expanding the community garden.

 

Dan Haycook, Community Endagerment Specialist feels that having a the garden is essential, but that is just one of the things that he feels is important.

"Healthy food and access to healthy food and affordable housing, senior housing is so important and if we can make the commnity aware of that and expand those efforts, you know then I think we're doing something good here."

Haley Marckes, an Americorps VISTA employee said, "I just like to give money for out comminity gradens, get them up and running because they do play a huge factor in giving food to the food shelves, which is always needed in Vermont.

The money raised from the tag sale will aid in the explanion project, which rural edge is hoping will happen next spring.

Members of Rural Edge believe that even the smallest of proceeds, make the biggest of differences.
