CONCORD- Route 2 is back open after a massive fire tore through the P&S Furniture. According to officials, no injuries were reported.
Around 10:30 this morning, flames were reported and crews from several towns were called to take control of the blaze. Fire officials are now trying to figure out what happened.
Chief Richard Fisher of the Concord Fire Department says the fire was already coming out of the backside of the building when crews arrived. As a result, he wasn’t unable to send anyone in.
“It’s a matter of just surrounding and keep it from spreading up to the house,” Fisher said.
Around 4, the road was re-opened after being closed around 11:30 this morning. At around 1:30, one lane was open for traffic.
Crews from multiple fire departments came to help.
Fisher says they had tankers from 8 different departments and were hauling water from 2 separate places.
The fire is still under investigation and the Concord Fire Department is appreciative for all the assistance they received.
