Senator Kitchell Talks About Up Coming Election
Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Jane Kitchell, (D) Caledonia and Orange said, "Because I came with a good knowledge of government that I've been able to move things forward particularly in healthcare."
She has not officially announced her re-election campaign yet, but she says progress in Vermont's Health care system needs to continue.
Kitchell also said, "We have a health care system that is costing the growth in cost and is exceeding income whether it's the state or wherever it's the employer, or the individuals income and we need to look at how we deliver care and how we finance it and how we pay for it we've started doing a lot of work, but its not complete.
More flexibility with federal laws could allow for more changes in the state health care reform should the federal government fail to pass a health care bill. Kitchell says, "One of the things we're looking at is should there be an established ration between benefits paid out and administrative costs."
Jobs and property taxes have long been a concern in Caledonia County. Rising unemployment and rising property taxes have put a strain on local economies. Kitchell states that small businesses would be better off if we had better broadband.
Working with multiple points of view in Montpelier she says, has helped her better serve the people in her district. She's hoping come Election Day in November that they'll give her a chance to continue serving them.
