Danville Dance Hall?

DANVILLE- By day the Danville Town Hall plays host to the town clerks office but come nightfall, on the first Friday of the month, a melodic transformation takes place. "I come to Contra dance for the live music, you get to hear wonderful live music every night and the social aspect of the dance," says Laurel Miller-Sims of North Hampton, MA, "You get to dance with people from all different walks of life and it's a great way to exercise. It's a great way to get out and about and meet people."
Chip Hedler of South Strafford, is the man behind the voice that calls the dance. "It's like being an extension of the band because I feel like I have to be in rhythm with the band, but it's sort of like vocal music if I have to keep calling, but I feel like I'm helping propel the dancers on the floor."
Danville hosts Contra Dancing the first Friday of every month. The dancing starts at 8, admission is five dollars at the door.
