Since moving to the Northeast Kingdom five years ago, Aine Baker has bought and rented out several properties in the area. Baker said, "I take a place like this and slowly turn it into something that's, you know, nice place to live in. We're doing painting now, we've done electrical work, we've done new windows, we've done quite a bit of work to it. It's coming around, it takes a while though."

One local student has written and published her first book at the age of 17. Jessica Newby, a senior at Danville High School, spent six months working on her senior project, a book entitled Mother Where Art Thou? The book is composed of poems inspired by her mother's heroine addiction.

July 4th, 1891 marked Lyndon's first centennial celebration. To memorialize the date, townspeople decided to bury a time capsule with documents from the event. Today it has still not been found.
