ST. JOHNSBURY - It's the holiday season, but some holidays seem to be overlooked this time of year.

Around the December 21st, the Shambhala Buddhists in St. Johnsbury celebrate what they refer to as Children's Day.  This is an event where kids build arts and crafts and a time for the community to come to together as one.

Signs that read 'Merry Christmas' cover the town, but there isn't much mention of Children's Day.  That being the case, Buddhists still don't get offended by seeing decorations of other nondenominational holidays.

Caroline Demaio from the Shambhala Buddhist Meditation Center says "We actually celebrate all of the solstices and equinox, but at Christmas time the twenty first is traditionally the time for celebrating of the return of the sun.
