Now that spring has sprung, spring sports have the chance to get back outside and begin to get ready for another season.  And with that here comes the spring track and field athletes of the, St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers.

The girls and boys St. Johnsbury Academy track team has began to sprint into shape once again.  Chip Langmaid, the head coach of the teams, has close to 70 students participating this season.  His girl's team has been runners up in States for the past couple years, and

hopes to see them make the top three this spring.  And as for the boys team, winning State Champions two years ago, found themselves facing a rebuilding year last year.  Despite not being a contact sport, track is still a team quest to the finish.  Dylan Holbrook, a Hilltopper senior, expresses his feelings about how track and field seems more like an individual sport

than other sports played, but the teams do come together at the end of the meet.  And just like any other team competing they all have goals they set for themselves for the end of their season, so did the members of the St. Johnsbury teams.  You can find the Hilltoppers dueling against U-32 High School and South Burlington High School on South Burlington's track for their first meet, Thursday, April 15, 2010.
