Winter Blues

The St. Johnsbury Food Co-Op hosted their annual Winter Blues Break February 12, 2010. With the low sounds of classical violins playing in one corner, a relaxing but inexpensive massage therapist in the front window, and even some chilled wine for tasting, helped the locals wipe away those winter blues, if only for a few minutes.
Al Milligan a local vendor was there to offer some of his healthy but sweet organic treats.
Eleanor Leger, a local orchard owner, was there even passing out a, new to Vermont, icy beverage.
Eden Ice Cider, a crispy but fresh cider strictly from Northeast Kingdom apples, Leger said, "It's a product that was invented in Quebec about ten to fifteen years ago and there are now thirty producers in Quebec, so it's been really successful them and we were visiting my husbands family in Montreal and we tasted it and we thought it was fabulous so we thought someone should make this in Vermont, why don't we?"
If you have not been to the St. Johnsbury Food Co-Op before it offers locally grown foods from the Northeast Kingdom and across New England.
