Karl Stein missing

Residents of Concord have been waiting for an answer as to what happened to their beloved Principal Karl Stein.

Narissa Young, a parent from Concord, expressed her dissatisfaction with the school board. "This is the only time in the last 2 years that I've voted to keep this school open. This school has never been worth anything and you've got principal that actually cares about the students and so many changes. This is crazy.  Get rid of the school board."

The questions that many Concord residents have been wondering were finally answered on Thursday, November 19th during a special meeting addressing the issue of their missing school principal.

The school library was filled with much emotion asking for his return to the school. Some were worried that without his return, the high school section of the school might be shut down.

One Concord student who was so upset that it left her in tears was worried about what was going to happen.  "So everyone’s wondering about this...can you tell us all that this is not going to end up like that? We loved this school...we love Mr. Stein."

It was announced that the missing Principal has been on administrative leave for the past month. Principal Stein had handed a letter of resignation prior to the beginning of the school year and at that time the school board declined his resignation.

However during the meeting School Board Chairman Linda Blakeslee announced that they in fact had accepted his letter of resignation much to the disgust of the audience in attendance.  "Concord School Board and School Principal Karl Stein have reached an agreement ending our employment relationship. He has rendered his resignation."

Many in attendance were outraged with this decision and demanded and answer as to why Stein had resigned but School Board Member Karl Goulding announced that hey could not reveal that information. “We have not said a word out of respect to Mr. Stein and fear of lawsuit. Think about that."

The School-Board then replied saying that they voted on the information they know and that their decision is what is best for the school and especially for the students.

School board member and parent Karen said she voted to keep the children “safe.”

Superintendant Peck declined to comment on the issue.

The next step for the Concord School-Board is to form a committee that will search for a new Principal that meets the standards of the students, faculty, staff and parents. The reason for Principal Stein’s resignation has still not been released.
