Thankful For Donations

Donations have begun to arrive at the food shelf, which is being stocked for the upcoming holiday food drive. Approximately half of the donations come from the Vermont Food Banks but according to Debbie Minor, Lyndonville Food Shelf Co-Director, more is needed to for the rest of the year and not just around holidays, “Business and individuals have been great so far, then you come to the holidays first of the year and everything seems to drop off. They forget people are hungry 12 months out of the year”.
If you would like to donate, the food shelf is in need of such items as canned goods, cereals and pastas. These donations can be made at the Elm Street Food Shelf in Downtown Lyndonville.
The Thanksgiving food drive will occur on Monday November 23rd at the Public Saftey Building in Lyndonville at 9 A.M.. The goal of the food shelf is providing at least 110 boxes of food for families.
