Stylist Gives Back to Soldiers

When she is not busy cutting hair and giving out beauty tips to her customers, stylist Gidget Rollins of Bradford is helping men and women whose hair she may never get the pleasure of meeting.
After members of the Vermont National Guard were deployed last November, Rollins decided to ensure that these brave soldiers are not forgotten and that they and their families are cared about all the time and not just the day they leave.
Since that November day she has been gathering anything from magazines to toiletries to send to the troops, who arrived in Afghanistan last week, once they get settled.
She is amazed how the community has rallied around her cause. One mother of two deployed soldiers, Michelle Osgood, explains why this is such a great idea.

"It's really important, it shows our appreciation, that we care. I know the feedback I've gotten from both of my boys. They really appreciate it, just knowing that someone is thinking of them. It makes a big difference, it helps them get through."
While little things such as deodorant isn't you're ideal present, Osgood also explains why even the simplest donation can do a wonder of good to those serving our country.
"The boys and girls, they don't have the convenience to just run to the store and get simple things like that, but knowing that someone in the United States cares and is taking the time to send it. It means a lot."

The donation drive will continue until all those serving overseas return home.
