In every animal shelter there are triumphs and heartbreak. Kingdom Kats, located in Saint Johnsbury, is no exception. Only there have been mostly victories when finding these cats a home.

On November 1, 2009, Kingdom Kats was opened to the public. It is a "limited-access" shelter, which means that they do not euthanize the animals that haven't found their home yet. Every cat sees a veterinarian shortly after arriving, thus ensuring that all cats have his or her vaccinations and are spayed/neutered before being adopted.

This shelter runs solely on volunteers and community support.
