Portland St. Bridge

St. Johnsbury will be making some much needed improvements to their main bridge.

The Portland St. Bridge also known as bridge 104 is looking to get remodeled. This bridge was built in 1943 and underwent renovations in 1986 and now a little over 20 years later the bridge needs more repairs. The town of St. Johnsbury is currently taking bids for maintenance and improvements only. Town officials have stated they want to make several repairs. St. Johnsbury town manager, Mike Welch, tells us the future plans for the bridge.

"So some of the bearings underneath will be replaced and some of the work on the concrete structural piers will be done, in addition to that there are two pedestrians stairways that are on the bridge now are in poor condition and those will be repaired."

Any contractors who would like to place a bid can do so before 3:00 p.m. on March 26th
