Snow Grooming

It's a job some people may not know about, and it can be an exciting thrill. Steve Mahon is a snow groomer at Burke Mountain. He enjoys his job grooming trails but risks are still involved. Cold temperatures may cause the hydraulic hoses to freeze up and without this part of the groomer working it doesn't allow it to do it's job.
Snow groomer's main purpose is to make trails smooth for skiers and snowboarders to ride on. The number one danger in grooming is when the mountain has too much snow. The groomer does not get the traction it needs and has the possibility of crashing or sliding off a trail. Despite the dangers of grooming Steve Mahon gets the reward of making the snow perfect on the trails and in the terrain park.
