Residents of Newbury, Vermont can rest easier knowing that help is arriving much faster these days. Town members of the Fire Department came together to form the Newbury EMS service.
Newbury is a small town located on the Vermont, New Hampshire line and is home to around two thousand people. Those residents are spread over approximately 65 square miles, which was a cause of slower response times in an emergency.
Since most members of the Fast Squad are responding from their own homes, they will be closer to the afflicted and will be able to offer medical attention as soon as they arrive, which in some cases can change the outcome in an emergency where time is of the essence.
News7 reporter Daniel Adams brings you the details.
