Library Week
This week is National Library week and in honor the Saint Johnsbury Athenaeum hosted an evening of readings.

Local writers, poets, teachers, journalist, and even singers gathered at the Saint Johnsbury Athenaeum in celebration of national Poet month and national Library week. Donna Colletti Lowre, a local Writer said, "I think that there were some beautiful things that were written. I think when it comes from the heart. When they are coming from their own experiences are the things that touch me the most. I think there were many writers here write that way. So it's wonderful."  Lisa Von Kann, the Library Director also sad, " I thought really we had an exceptional group of writers tonight you know there is so many writers in the mountains and valleys around here and it's really a treat to bring them all together ."

The 18 writers expressed their own work in a variety of powerful texts. Bill Biddle, a Writer and an LSC Professor says that, " If you think about people who write news or non-fiction information very often they are writing about emotions that are not in fact their own and the art of being a good writer is to be able to express not only the images but the emotions of the story whether it is a poetic narrative or a novel or a piece of news."

The Authors pieces captured emotions of passed experiences and moved the audience. Biddle also said, "This is a wonderful event. We've done it in the past this is the best one we've had yet. It was pretty good and I look forward to next year"

Writing has many different forms of expressing itself, at the event we were reminded in the beauty of the Athenaeum how words can make you feel and where the roots of our media comes from.
