In the summer of 2009, milk prices were at an all time high.  And so far this year dairy farmers all over the United States are taking financial hits as the prices start to drop.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture started providing emergency aid through the Milk Producers Federation, but thousands of jobs are still at risk without more federal assistance.

James Gingue of Gingue Farm has tried to same money any way possible.  “We sat down with our nutritionist, who does all our feed and grain and went through everything.  We went through all the numbers and basically we’ve done all we can other than cut back on labor, and in this farm we can’t cut back on labor."
