New Dorm for LI

Local contractors and Lyndon Institute teamed up for yet another exciting change on their campus.

The foundation was laid down in June and since then the construction has not stopped on the “Harris House”.

The building, which is set to be a new dormitory, is located in the heart of campus. The project cost nearly one point six million dollars and is intended to house twenty-one students. It’s expected to be ready next fall before the school year begins. The building is being erected by all local contractors and has resulted because of the growing demand for students from all over to live on campus.

Rick Hilton, the Head Master of Lyndon Institute says, "The number of students from Kirby and St. Johnsbury have nearly doubled and at the same time the number of other students from other parts of Vermont. Other States in the United States and other countries have got up from eight students back in two thousand three to ninety six students this year and we think about one hundred and fifteen students next year.”

The Harris House is expected to be complete by August 1st as the school year begins on the Twenty Third.
