Local Banks

In response to the economic crisis large banks are reducing the amount of loans they give out; however, local banks are wasting no time. Banks such as the Connecticut River Bank are making an effort to reach out to their customers. According to Michael Claflin, Northern Regional Vice President, the CT River Bank makes an effort to go out into small communities to visit their customers.

Tracy Ash, a commercial lender, said that 99% of the customers are very open and welcome the opportunity to see their bankers making an effort to service their needs. Deb Blanc, Commercial Credit Officer, works on accessing the risk to the businesses the bank works with. Blanc stated, "The key there is testing the quality of the accounts we get, finding businesses that are successful understanding what their businesses are and helping them improve their businesses as well."

News 7's David Carmichael visited the bank.
