Today's Loan Rates

While large banks in the country are decreasing on lending, local community banks are stepping up to the plate.

In response to the economic environment and making imprudent loans large banks are reducing lending. Local banks are wasting no time to gather customers. Michael Claflin, Northern Regional Vice President said, "Well we on an annual basis spend a lot of time out visiting customers. We are a small bank we serve small communities and we make an effort to get out in those communities as much as we canand ah like today is what we call a calling blitz were a number of other branches and other regions come up here in Littleton and help us reach out to ah customers around the area ."

The Connecticut River bank has called blitz four times a year at each of their banks to connect with their customers. Tracy Ash, Commercial Lender said, "Ninety nine percent of them are very open and they welcome the opportunity to see their bankers out making an effort to service their needs."

Commercial credit officer Deb Blanc works on accessing the risk to the businesses the bank works with. Deb Blanc, Commercial Credit Officer said, "The key there is testing the quality of the accounts we get. ah finding businesses that are successful understanding what their businesses are and helping them to improve their businesses as well."

Connecticut River banks are doing well in getting more customers and increasing their business.
