Gambling for Education

The Vermont Legislature told lottery officials to figure out how to produce more income for the State’s education fund without adding new forms of gaming. The request came after watching Vermont lottery revenues continuously drop over the past four years. Vermont Lottery Executive Director, Alan Yandow, says the expected net proceeds for the first year to be in the 700-800 thousand dollar range.
With drawings held every Tuesday and Friday, Vermont is the fifth state in New England to offer the Mega Millions game to its residents.
