Gone Fishin'

Steele

The Vermont trout and salmon fishing season kicked off just over a week ago, and
blue skies and clear water set the scene at lake Willoughby as fishermen cranked their reels and pulled their poles.

Among the many fishermen on the shoreline of Willoughby, was candidate Dennis Steele, who's currently running for Governor of Vermont.

"Yeah it's good to be out actually with my dad. He doesn't get out too much you know? He's always working.  But when Uncle Don comes and visits from Colorado, he usually takes a break and we try to do something.  So it's kind of nice, and actually a lot warmer than I thought it would be otherwise I would have brought the kids out here."

His family and friends accompanied him and enjoyed a relaxing day of fishing.

Another Fishermen, Don Steele said, "I came out here for a short vacation out here to Colorado and, I'd heard a lot about lake Willoughby here. And we heard some rumors that there was possibly a run going on here."

Even though Dennis Steele and company didn't catch anything, the beautiful weather made up for it all.

When it came to the fishing the Steele's said, "Can't expect too much here, but the weather is the reason to be here. We've caught nothing.  We've supplied the sporting good stores with some revenue and we've caught nothing."
