Idling
Leaving your car running while making a quick stop at the local gas station may soon be illegal. Idle-Free Vermont, is a non-profit, grassroots campaign that has formed a partnership with The American Lung Association, Green Mountain Coffee and The Sierra Club in hopes of making Vermont idle-free.

As of right now, there is a bill in works that will prohibit diesel trucks weighing more than ten thousand pounds  from idling. This bill proposes violators receive up to $500.00 in fines. However that bill exempts military, emergency, fuel delivery and non-commercial passenger cars.

According to the Idle-Free Vermont website, there are several reasons why idling your car is dangerous. As of February 2, 2010, the bill was given to the Committee of Transportation to revise.
