Snow Dance

The lack of snowfall this winter has gotten some residents up in arms. In order to fix this issue the 2010 Snow Dance was held in Bandstand Park. The residents were attempting to appease the weather gods so that heavy snowfall will return to the NEK.

Steven Nichols, President of the Lyndon Chamber of Commerce, said, "We're here because we recognize the fact that there has not been nearly enough snow in the Northeast Kingdom so far this winter. So what we did is put together a little snow dance and we invited people to come out to Bandstand Park here in Lyndonville and to perform this snow dance. Now that it's done we firmly believe that next Tuesday or Wednesday they'll be a 12-14 inch snowstorm here in the Northeast Kingdom."

These residents claim that the fate of the Northeast Kingdom's tourism industry depends on the dance.
