Cyber Monday in the NEK
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, but more importantly known as the most chaotic shopping day of the year.
It’s a day where retailers offer their biggest holiday sales with stores kept open long hours, so crowds of bargain hungry people can get a chance to score some deals.
However, the Monday after Thanksgiving stands unique with shopping options to avoid waiting outside of WalMart at four in the morning to get that flat screen TV for half the price it should be.
According to some retail outlets, the real bargains were yesterday on what is called Cyber Monday. People were able to return to their work desks and surf the Internet for holiday steals.
Many of the sales were not available in retail outlets, as an effort for stores to increase their revenue from last year by using online catalogues.
Jamie Garand, the JC Penny catalog supervisor in St. Johnsbury, says that shoppers are being more careful about how they spend their money this year.
