Alcohol Sales
In the current economy, it's hard to think that any business could have increasing sales; however, the alcohol business is doing just fine.  In Vermont alcohol and liquor sales at retail stores have skyrocketed.

The Diamond Hill Store in Danville has found that their liquor sales have gone up a significant amount, something they attribute to the economy.  They have also discovered that their customers are purchasing generic brands of alcohol, sacrificing quality over money.  The Vermont Department of Liquor Control revealed that liquor store sales rose two-percent (with 75% of liquor sales made in store) and that the sale of alcohol in bars were down tree-percent in 2009.  Tom Beattie of the Diamond Hill Store contributes that decline to price.

In any case, liquor consumers in Vermont are finding every way they can to stretch out the value of a dollar.
