At approximately 2:15 A.M. on February 10, 2010, three Northeast Kingdom commercial businesses were the victims of Burglary. The three places that were hit: Marties Quick Stop (Danville), Agway, and Bagel Depot (both in Lyndonville).

The suspects, Mark Marsden (46) and James Sherman (32), took thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes and tobacco products, two cash registers, and road salt. The truck the two used to flee all three crime scenes was caught on surveillance cameras. After the initial investigation evidence led police to Island Pond where they found that truck parked outside a South St. residence.

State Police questioned Marsden and Sherman which led to a confession and their arrest. All the items stolen were recovered shortly after. Sargent Sean Selby believes, "It's drug related, every, most of the big robberies or burglaries people are doing now are drug related with prescriptions and illegal activities so once again it comes back to drugs."

The two were set to appear at Caledonia County District Court on February 11, 2010 to answer to charges on three counts of burglary and larceny; however, there wasn't a judge on duty so Marsden's arraignment was moved to Washington District Court. His arraignment was completed. Marsden's bail is set at $20,000 and must be admitted to the state hospital for a competency exam. There is no word on when Sherman will appear in court. At the current time this is all the information available.
